University Grants Commission (UGC) conducts the
National Eligibility Test (NET) twice every year once in June and December to
determine the eligibility for Assistant Professors or Junior Research
Fellowship.
For the December session National Testing Agency
has released the UGC NET recruitment notification. The application process has
started and will commence on 9th of October 2019. The test is expected to be
conducted in December 2019. The admit card release date has not been declared
yet.
If you are applying for Joint Research Fellowship,
then your age must not be above 30 years and if you are applying for Assistant
Professor then there is no upper age limit. Besides the age criteria you must
have secured at least 55% in master’s degree. Even if you have appeared for the
final year’s exam and the result is awaited, you can sit for UGC NET 2019.
The UGC NET exam is to be conducted from 2nd to 6th December 2019. Start your preparation for the
National Eligibility Test 2019 from now but before that do look at the UGC NET exam pattern for the
year 2019.
The UGC NET selection process will involve 2
papers –
Paper 1 – Teaching, Reasoning and Research Aptitude, Comprehension,
Divergent thinking, Communication and GA.
Paper 2 – Knowledge in subject chosen.
UGC NET Exam Pattern 2019
· The UGC NET will be held in online mode.
· Questions in both the papers
will be MCQ type with 4 options.
· A total of 150 questions are there in UGC NET out of which 50 questions in Paper 1 and 100
questions in Paper 2.
· Total exam will be of 300 marks.
· Time duration of the exam is 3 hours
and will be held in 2 shifts.
· 1st shift will be from 9:30 to 12:30 AM and 2nd shift from 2:30 to 5:30 PM.
· Paper 1 will be of 100 marks
and Paper 2 will be of 200 marks.
· Total time allotted for taking
the exam will be 3 hours that is 180 minutes.
· In both paper 1 & 2
correct answers will be awarded 2
marks.
· There will be no negative marking done.
· Due to any reason if a
question is found incorrect, then marks will be awarded to candidates who have
attempted the question.
