RBI Grade B Recruitment Notification 2019 – Exam Dates

As per RBI Grade B Recruitment Notification 2019, the online application will start from 21st September and you can apply till 11th October 2019. The examination date for RBI Grade B Phase-I Exam is 9th November 2019. Similarly, the examination date for Phase-II Exam is also announced i.e. 1st December 2019. RBI Grade-B- DEPR / DSIM Paper-II & III (Online/Written Examination) is to be held on 2ndDecember 2019. There is no update on Interview Process & Declaration of the final result.

RBI Grade B Exam Pattern Prelims
The distribution of the marks and the questions of papers is illustrated below-
  1. There will be a total of 200 questions for 200 marks for composite time of 2 hours.
  2. General Awareness Paper will have 80 questions with 80 marks. 
  3. Quantitative Aptitude will comprise of 30 questions with 30 marks.
  4. English Language will carry 30 questions with 30 marks.
  5. Reasoning will have 60 questions with  60 marks.

RBI Grade B Exam Phase – II

  • Paper I Economics and Social Issues will be of Objective Type comprising of  100 marks for duration of 90 minutes.
  • Paper II English (Writing Skills) will be of Descriptive Type (to be typed with the help of keyboard) comprising of 100 marks for time period of 90 minutes.
  • Paper III Finance & Management will be of Objective Type carrying 100 marks for a duration of 90 minutes.

  • Paper of Economics/Statistics will be of Objective Type carrying 100 marks for time period of 120 Minutes.
RBI Grade B Exam Phase – II
  • Paper of Economics/Statistics will be of Descriptive Type  (Answers to be written on paper to questions displayed on the computer screen) carrying 100 marks for a duration of 180 Minutes.

RBI Grade B Exam Phase – III

Paper of English will be of  Descriptive Type (Answers need to be typed on computer screen) carrying 100 marks for a time period of 180 Minutes.

RBI Grade B Recruitment – Eligibility Criteria

A. Nationality

RBI Grade B Examination 2019, a candidate must  have the following eligibility criteria like either 
a. a citizen of India,or
b.  a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or 
c. A Tibetan refugee who is permanently settled in India prior to January 1, 1962, or 
d. A person of Indian origin migrated from either Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam having the intention of living permanently in India.
*Note - The candidates belonging to categories (b), (c), and (d) should possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

B. Age

  • The minimum age to apply is 21 years and the upper age limit is 30 years as on May 1, 2019. The candidates with M.Phil. and Ph.D. will have upper age limit of 32 and 34 years respectively.
  • Candidates of the reserved category are eligible for relaxation in upper age limit as per Government of India norms.

C. Educational Qualifications

The educational qualifications for RBI Grade B Examination 2019 are given below:
Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – (General)
  • 60% marks in aggregate for all semester/years is required
  • (50% for SC/ST/PWD) or an equivalent grade in Bachelor’s degree as well as in 12th (or Diploma or equivalent) and 10th Standard examinations from recognized University and Boards respectively.
Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – DEPR 
  • Master’s Degree in Economics / Econometrics / Quantitative Economics / Mathematical Economics / Integrated Economics Course/ Finance, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade is required. SC/ST/PWD candidates are given a relaxation of 5%.
Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – DSIM
Essential: A Master’s Degree in Statistics/Mathematical Economics/ Mathematical Statistics/Statistics & Informatics/Econometrics from IIT-Kharagpur or Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay with at least 55% marks in aggregate of all semester /years or an equivalent grade; OR
  • The Master’s Degree in Mathematics is needed with minimum 55% marks in aggregate for all semester / years and 1-year PG Diploma in Statistics or related subjects from renowned institute; OR 
  • Have done M. Stat. from Indian Statistical Institute with 55% marks i.e.  minimum in aggregate of all semesters/years OR
  • Should have done PG Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) which is offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur and IIM Calcutta with at least 55% marks in aggregate of all semesters/years or equivalent grade.
*Note: For SC/ST/PWD candidates, the minimum marks required in Master’s Degree as in items a, b, c and d above is 50% in aggregate of all semesters/years or an equivalent grade.
Number of Attempts:
General Category candidates have 6-times attempts for Phase-I Exam of this post. There is no restriction of attempts in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD if the posts are reserved for them.

  •  Two week prior to the exam date  RBI Grade B Examination 2019 will issue an e-Admit Card to the applicants who have successfully filled the form.

  • You should check the e- Admission Letter properly and bring any errors, if any, to the knowledge of Board immediately.

RBI Grade B Recruitment 2019 – Result

No scorecards will be issued for candidates after the release of RBI Grade B Result,. The marks obtained in RBI Grade B Examination 2019 Phase-I will be made available on the website after the selection of candidates for Phase-II exam. Though, the marks obtained  in Phase-II Exam and Interview will be out on Official website of RBI only after the announcement of the final result.
