Expected SBI Clerk Exam Syllabus 2019
The
SBI Clerk examination is conducted annually for the recruitment of clerks in
the organisation. The examination is conducted in two phases, preliminary and
mains. The official dates for the exams are not yet released. The pattern for
this exam is expected to remain the same as there has not been made any
official announcement regarding change in pattern.
A
candidate only qualifies for the mains exam if he/she clears the preliminary
examination. The prelim exam is expected to be conducted in October/November
2019. The Mains exam is expected to be conducted in December 2019.
Both
the Preliminary and Mains exams will be Online MCQ based exams.
Preliminary examination 2019
This
paper will be of 100 marks with a duration of 1 hour. The exam can be attempted
in Hindi or English.
The
paper will be having 3 sections namely English Language which will be of 30
marks containing 30 questions., Reasoning, and Numerical ability, which will be
of 35 marks having 35 questions. Each section will have a duration of 20
minutes.
Common characteristics between
Preliminary and Mains exam
Each
correct answer will be awarded 1 mark and 0.25 marks will be deducted for every
incorrect answer. There will be 5 options for each question out of which the
correct responses have to selected and submitted.
Detailed Preliminary Syllabus
English Language- Reading Comprehension, Cloze test, Fillers,
Spotting errors, Sentence improvement, Filling the blanks.
Reasoning- Puzzle and arrangement, Inequality, Syllogism,
Coding-Decoding, Blood relations, Direction senses, Order and Ranking.
Numerical Ability- Number series, Simplification/Approximation,
Quadratic equation, Data interpretation, Data sufficiency, Miscellaneous.
Mains Examination 2019
The
Mains exam will be of 200 marks with a duration of 2 hours and 40 minutes. The SBI Clerk syllabus of Preliminary and the Mains exam are similar. The Mains exam contains
an additional section namely General/Financial awareness.
This
paper will contain General English of 40 marks having 40 questions and a
duration of 35 minutes, Reasoning Ability and Computer aptitude of 60 marks
having 50 questions and a duration of 45 minutes, Quantitative aptitude with 50
marks and 50 questions and a duration of 45 minutes, General/Financial awareness
with 50 marks having 50 questions and a duration of 35 minutes.

General English- Reading comprehension, Sentence rearrangement
or para jumbles, Sentence correction/error finding, Spell checks, Fillers,
Cloze test.
Quantitative aptitude- Simplification, Number series, Data
sufficiency, Data interpretation, Quadratic equation, Time, Distance and work,
Partnership, Profit and loss, Simple and compound interest, Mixture and
allegation, Ratio and proportion averages and percentages.
Reasoning ability- Internet, Machine Input/Output, Syllogism,
Blood relation, Direction sense, Inequalities, Puzzles, Coding-Decoding,
Ranking, Statement and assumptions.
General/Financial
awareness- Current affairs-banking industry news, books and
authors, obituaries, new schemes of central and state government.
Static GK- Country-Capitals,
Currencies, headquarters of financial organisations, dance forms, nuclear and
thermal power stations.
Banking/Financial terms, Static awareness, Banking and
Financial awareness.
Computer Awareness- Basics of
Computer Hardware, software, Generation of computers, DBMS, Networking,
Internet, MS Office, Input-Output devices, Important abbreviations.
The SBI Clerk exam is similar to most of the banking
examinations. The detailed syllabus with weightage and pattern has been given
